We Deshpande fellows are involved in many social development activities in this one specil work is Found raising for Bihar flood relief. The state has suffered major losses in agriculture output. Many families have lost a major income source. We Fellows collectively decided to quickly act in response to the flooding by organizing a relief effort for flood victims, our fellow Indian brothers and sisters. For one week, Fellows raised funds throughout Hubli, including public places and colleges such as BVB College of Engineering and Technology. After weighing options, Fellows have collectively decided to send all moneys collected, to the Relief Fund of the Chief Minister of Bihar through a crossed cheque. Fellows a printed receipt book has been kept at Deshpande Foundation for transparency purposes.
In this campaign I had good experience and as well as bad experience. Some people supported generously and some didn’t, because it is very difficult to believe unknown people in the matter of money because it is the money which they earned with hard work.
Fellows divided in to 5 groups in each group 4-5 members were there. Pramod, Paramjeet and Sanjiv were part of my work in the group. First day we went to railway station for found rising. In this we collected money in the platform of railway station and in trains. In this I came to know found rising is very big work, we need lot of skills and techniques for fund raising. In this each group used their own strategy to collect the money and fellows collected nearly 63,000Rs. Fellows sent this money to Chief Minister Relief fund.
